Committees

Committees are open to anyone who is interested in taking an active part in Immanuel Lutheran Church. Most committees meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. A short devotion takes place in the Parish Hall at 7:00 PM and the committee meetings begin shortly thereafter. If you are interested in becoming part of a committee feel free to join us at committee night, or to contact the council representative for the committee you are interested in working with.

Cemetery:
Oversees the care and upkeep of the cemetery; coordinates preparations or work with the family and/or funeral home regarding burial in the cemetery. The Council Representative and Cemetery Committee Chairperson serve as Cemetery Overseers.

Evangelism:
Recruits sponsors for new members and plans ways to welcome them into this congregation; assists pastors in visitation of prospective members; and encourages all member of this congregation to be witnesses for Christ.

Fellowship:
Plans or supports fellowship opportunities, organizations, and events, and serves as liaison to the Congregation Council.

Finance:
Oversees all financial transactions of the congregation, using generally accepted accounting procedures; utilizes the ILC Financial Policy to direct financial activities of the congregation.

Long-Range Planning Committee:
Observes the needs of this congregation in all aspects of its responsibility to carry out the mission of the church; studies past and present needs, growth patterns, and facilities usage, seeking input from all standing committees.

Parish Education:
Oversees all educational activities of this congregation; recruits teachers and helpers, schedules, plans, and assists with all educational programs.

Property:
Organizes repairs to facilities, grounds, and equipment.

Stewardship:
Leads understanding of Christian stewardship and plans fund drives or other projects or programs that involve the use of time, talent, and treasure of this congregation.

Worship & Music:
Works with the pastor(s) to insure that all worship services are conducted “decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40), incorporating the gifts of members and others in various musical and support groups.

Youth:
Plans and assists in carrying out all youth activities.

Technology:
Oversees and promotes research, integration, and coordination of technology and media resources in support of congregational needs and the ILC mission statement.

Human Resources:
Monitors and evaluates personnel issues related to the staff of this congregation; utilizes the ILC Human Resource Policy to direct personnel-related activities of the congregation.

Day School Board:
Oversees the operation of the Day School and works closely with the Day School Director who administers all policies and procedures, utilizing the ILDS Handbook and Continuing Resolutions adopted by the Board and approved by the Church Council.
