Quilters

April 20, 2022 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every month that begins at 8:30 am on day Third of the month, repeating until December 31, 2022

Immanuel Lutheran Church has a long history of creating and contributing quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Since 1998 our quilters have contributed 1,557 quilts for this effort. We have ladies who sew quilt tops and bottoms at their homes. Then, quilters meet on the third Wednesday of each month to tie tops and bottoms together with batting in between. Finally, the quilts are hemmed and ready to go. These quilts are sent all over the world to people in need.
There have been many quilters at Immanuel over the years who were instrumental in encouraging and inspiring our current group of quilters. We especially want to recognize Vernice Krueger, who made many, many quilts by herself.
We sincerely appreciate the ladies who have contributed their time and talents towards this project and the many donations of fabric and batting that make this labor of love possible. We invite anyone who is interested in this worthwhile project and fellowship to join us. No special skills are needed. The late Mother Teresa said, “Each quilt crafted with love is a gift to God.”
