Celebrate Life's Special Moments With Us

At Immanuel, we joyfully celebrate life’s special moments from baptisms and confirmations to weddings, as milestones of faith and love. We’re honored to walk alongside you, offering support and blessings as you mark these meaningful occasions. Whether it’s welcoming a new member into God’s family or uniting two lives in marriage, we cherish the opportunity to share in your journey.

We also support our members when a loved one’s time on earth has come to an end. At Immanuel, we provide a compassionate and comforting space to honor your loved one’s life and find hope in God’s promises. Our church community is here to surround you with prayer and empathy during this difficult time of grief.

Baptism

Our baptism is a significant part of our faith journey as we come from the baptismal waters to live a new life as children of God. Marked with the cross of Christ and sealed by the Spirit, we receive a new identity as followers of Jesus, and the story of Jesus becomes our story. It is often said that we need to be attentive to the words we say, and this is especially true as we examine the words that are said at baptism. Together we hope and pray that those being baptized will be nurtured in the faith, grow into their baptism, learn to trust God, and live as disciples of Jesus. As a church community, we promise to support the baptized in their life with Christ.

Confirmation

Confirmation means "saying yes". In confirmation God's promise to the individual made at baptism is confirmed: God confirms his promise to be with the baptized always and he or she receives the blessing and a special greeting from the church in the form of a Bible verse that is thought of as a kind of life companion. Confirmation is not a sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church but a rite that also marks the passage from childhood to youth. At Immanuel, 7th and 8th graders participate in weekly confirmation class with the pastor and are confirmed on Pentecost at the end of their 8th grade year.

Holy Matrimony

Having your wedding at Immanuel means celebrating your love in a sacred space, surrounded by a supportive faith community. In the ELCA, marriage is a covenant of love and faithfulness, reflecting God's love for us and inviting Christ to be at the center of your union. We are honored to be part of your special day, offering blessings and guidance as you begin this lifelong journey together.

Funerals

“When the church gathers to mark the end of life, Christ crucified and risen is the witness of worship, the strength of mutual consolation, and the hope of healing” (Evangelical Lutheran Worship, introduction to the Funeral liturgy, p. 666). Although a Christian funeral honestly confronts the harsh reality of life’s ending, it witnesses to our hope in a new life beginning, both for the deceased and for those who grieve. At Immanuel, we gather to support the loved ones of the deceased. Our church community is here to support you with prayer and empathy during this difficult time of grief.
